Sokolac National Monument, Bihac, BA
The historic site of the medieval and later the Ottoman town of Sokolac was declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2007. Recently restored fortress walls and defensive tower can be accessed directly or through a nice walk; learn a bit more about this historic site through our navigation Explore Local.
We highly recommend you to opt for a recreational tour. Discover the new Debeljača Trim Trail that will take you from the town of Bihac to the old fortification site. Built in the summer of 2019 by proactive citizens of Bihac, many themselves being nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts, the trail is approx. 3.5 km long and encourages both local citizens and visitor to access the historic site on foot, on bike, or by jogging, which means up to 1 hour of nice and healthy recreational activity. Eco and responsible! Have a great time!
For a more fulfilling experience we suggest a guided tour - find our guides listed in our interactive map under sport activities.
