Deep Forest Breathing - Feel the Difference

Extra Info & Inspiration

Breathing means living, it is so essential that we don’t even think about it, but we should. Numerous modern studies, and what is significant all ancient cultures, have shown that deep breathing has numerous and important health benefits: decreased heart rate and blood pressure, decreased stress levels, increased lung endurance and strength, improved immunity, increased energy level, and more.

Diaphragmatic breathing is also known as deep breathing, abdominal breathing or belly breathing and for many of us it seems hard – that’s why it’s an exercise, not a regular thing We are advised to practice it 5 to 10 minutes 3 to 4 times per day - deep breaths in and out. Our body and mind almost always signal us when they need a break, let’s take that break and breathe deeply, the air coming in through our nose fully fills our lungs and sends a message to our brain to calm down.

The air in a forest has no or a lot less contaminants than the air in a city, so it's easier on our lungs. With trees converting carbon dioxide into fresh oxygen for us to breathe, a short break in the forest can do wonders for us and our health.

Start with shorter periods of conscious, quiet breathing several times a day - and in the forest as often as you can!
