Astronomical Observatory Korenica - Solar Eclipse

Throughout the year, the Astronomical Society Korenica is welcoming all who want to learn more about astronomy or to look at the night sky through a telescope. AS Korenica is one of the most active astronomical societies in Croatia and a member of the Croatian Astronomical Association. They organize lectures and courses, public observations of important astronomical events, and provide accommodation.

On the same address, and in the final stage of equipping, is the Astronomical Observatory Korenica with a large rotating dome, one the largest in the region! A real treat for stargazers!

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, a partial solar eclipse will be visible over Croatia. The entire event will begin between 7:25 PM and 7:30 PM, during which the Moon will finally cover more than 90 percent of the Sun's diameter. Although only the first part will be visible in Croatia, it will be long enough to enjoy this spectacular celestial spectacle. The Sun should not be viewed with the naked eye or through binoculars, experience it all with the help of certified solar filters or glasses!

Mr. Nikola is also a skilled craftsman, so as a bonus experience you can arrange a small demonstration or / and get the best souvenir from your trip - an authentic handicraft to decorate your home.
